Susan R. Beehler taught at both the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and at El Paso Community College before retiring. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Piano Performance from UTEP (then known as Texas Western College), earned a Master of Music in Theory and Composition and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education and Piano Performance from the University of Arizona. As a composer, Dr. Beehler has created scripts and music for three musicals that address various contemporary social issues. These have been produced locally at the Chamizal Theater and the Sixth Annual International Conference on Women in Higher Education and Washington, D.C. and Maryland. She continues to be active as a performer on both harpsichord and piano.
