Ricky Vilardell is the Band Director at El Paso High School and is also a music instructor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Music degree from New Mexico State University. He has performed as a saxophonist with The El Paso Wind Symphony and with various jazz and rock groups. Besides Sprezzatura, he also performs on recorder, shawm (Renaissance oboe) and dulcian (Renaissance bassoon) with the Jornada Renaissance Wind Ensemble.
